01 / WHAT
Definition

What is a stock program?

A proactive supply agreement where Fox Packaging uses your historical usage data and commodity trends to keep the right packaging held before you need it. Instead of chasing orders and reacting to gaps, your inventory is planned the way you plan production: around shifts, seasonality, and SKU velocity.

02 / TYPES
Program types

Choose the structure that matches how your facility runs.

Four formats, one shared goal: keep your line supplied. Pick the one that fits your operation, or talk to a program lead and we’ll help you decide.

01 / 04
Vendor-Managed Inventory
Fox monitors and replenishes your packaging inventory based on agreed reorder points and usage patterns. You maintain availability without managing the details.
02 / 04
Floor Stock Program
Pre-positioned packaging held at your facility, or a Fox-managed location, ready for immediate use. Ideal for high-velocity SKUs where downtime is costly.
03 / 04
Min / Max Agreements
Defined minimum and maximum thresholds trigger replenishment automatically. Simpler. Consistent. Predictable volume, predictable cost.
04 / 04
Blanket Orders
Commit to a quantity over time at a fixed price, with releases drawn as needed. Locks pricing and supply while keeping delivery flexible.

Customer story

Eighteen months in. Same SKUs, same volume, fewer emergencies.

A floor stock program tuned to high-velocity produce SKUs, built on Market Basket’s historical usage data and customer forecasts.

The challenge

Consistent availability across high-velocity produce SKUs.

Market Basket needed consistent availability of several high-velocity produce SKUs, including 2 lb organic apple pouches, 3 lb conventional apple poly, 5 lb carrot poly, and citrus laminated films, without the risk of over-ordering or supply gaps between production runs.

We set up a floor stock program with inventory levels determined by Market Basket’s historical usage data and customer forecasts. Packaging is staged and ready when the line needs it. No waiting on lead times, no scrambling for last-minute orders.

04 / HOW
Operating model

How we stand up a stock program.

No lengthy onboarding. A Fox program lead runs discovery, builds the model, and puts it into production within weeks, then maintains it as your run-rate shifts.

STEP 01  ·  WEEK 1–2

Discovery & data review

We review your usage history, SKU priorities, and production schedule to map your current needs and gaps. Nothing guessed, everything written down.

STEP 02  ·  WEEK 3–4

Program design

Together we select the right structure and define inventory levels, reorder triggers, and communication cadence. You sign off before anything ships.

STEP 03  ·  WEEK 5 →

Implementation & monitoring

The program goes live. Fox monitors stock and checks in regularly to keep it dialed in as demand, specs, and seasons shift.

05 / INPUTS
What we need from you

Three inputs to build the program right.

The more context you share, the more precisely we can design a program that fits. Most operators send everything below from their ERP in a single export.

ARequired

SKU prioritization

Which SKUs are most critical to your line? Knowing priority helps Fox focus availability where it matters most, before covering the long tail.

BRequired

Seasonality insights

Bringing demand patterns helps Fox right-size inventory at every point in the year. Volume curves beat averages.

COptional

Flexibility on specs

Where you have flexibility on gauge, material, or dimensions gives Fox options to reduce lead times and prevent supply gaps. We’ll always flag trade-offs.

Who owns the inventory in a stock program?

It depends on the program structure. In a VMI or floor stock arrangement, Fox typically manages and holds inventory until it’s pulled for use. Blanket orders and min/max programs may involve customer-owned inventory held at a Fox facility or on-site. Ownership terms are defined during program design and documented in your program spec.

How long does onboarding take?

Most programs can be up and running within a few weeks, assuming clean usage data and an agreed SKU priority list. Simple VMI rollouts go live in 3 weeks; complex multi-site programs take 6–8.

What if my needs change mid-program?

Stock programs are designed to be flexible. Regular check-ins allow Fox to add, substitute, or retire SKUs and reorder points as your production needs evolve. We formally re-baseline every quarter.

Is there a minimum volume requirement?

Program requirements vary by structure and SKU complexity. Fox works with a range of customer sizes; the most important factor is consistent, predictable usage that makes advance planning viable. If you’re unsure whether your volume qualifies, reach out and we’ll take a look.

How are prices set and reviewed?

Pricing is locked at program inception for the agreed term, with transparent adjustment triggers tied to published resin indices. No surprise mid-contract increases.
Request a program review

Stop firefighting packaging. Build a program instead.

A Fox program lead will review your volume, lead times, and SKU mix, and send back a draft program structure within 48 business hours. No commitment.
